On second thought, this little ritual would definitely be preferable to the “taking-turns-spouting-off-your-favorite-expletive-because-you-just-realized-you-forgot-the-diaphragm” routine, as performed by my husband and myself exactly nine months before I gave birth to our fourth child in five years.
