The first part of this is for those of y’all that blog…
Since mysteries are overrated, here is the real reason this site has seemed to ‘take off.’ I know some of y’all have wondered, and just been too polite to ask. I love that about you, really, but I’m a girl of very few secrets. So, if you’ll remember way back here I stated that this blog had an agenda. Also, there are numerous times i mention that Mike is Mr. Fancy Shmancy Businessman, and sees the business side of everything. I do mean everything. (Well, no. Not everything, actually. Ew.) So when I told him about this blog/marketing idea for future writing, blah de blah blah, he was all for putting money into it as an investment. I did a few things, as a result, that your average blogger might not do. I think somehow I did Google ads. I don’t remember how I did this, but I did. Maybe through Sitemeter? No idea. Anyway, mystery solved. Voila. Blog traffic.
It’s just marketing, not that I’m just amazingly special, or anything. Oh wait, no! I forgot! It totally IS. Read here. And here. And that’s just a couple! (Y’all are so good. You can come up with lovely awards and buttons and things like that and I can’t even figure out how to update my blogroll)
Also, that last post about Blogger and Blogspot? I was unclear. If y’all have comments turned so that I cannot leave them, I pester you personally by email until you change your settings because I LOVE to leave you little comments. This was more like I could only see your blogs through Bloglines, but the pages would not otherwise load at all or the little comment boxes either. So I could read and giggle and sigh, and that was it. No comments. It was hard, but I’m planning return visits, of course.

Non bloggers wake up! Cute Kid Story you don’t want to miss.
So I’m making dinner earlier. No, it was not Hamburger Helper. (And no, it was not good.) Caden-2yr comes over and is thoroughly concerned with the fact taht Seth-4mth is a little fussy. Caden-2yr says "Eat! Eat!" to try to get me to stop making Not Good Dinner and take care of his little brother already. Isn’t that sweet? But really, Seth-4mth is ok, and I’m almost done, so I tell him he’s ok.
I finish up, and the next thing I know, Caden-2yr hikes up his t shirt and is bravely offering Seth-4mth his own nipple. Because, clearly, someone should feed his baby brother, and if it has to be him to get the job done, then SO BE IT. (No, sorry, I did not get a picture.) But it was a selfless act not seen in most 2 yr olds, and I was both freaked out and proud at the same time. We then had to have an awkward discussion about how his nipples don’t really ‘work’ that way, but I don’t think he got it.
But hey, "A+" for effort, Caden-2yr!

11:24 pm
Freaked out and proud at the same time. Isn’t that just motherhood in a nutshell?
Too cute.
11:35 pm
Oh my!! I am so laughing so hard! I so think you should be proud and freaked out at the same time!!! hehee! What a good little boy!!

11:55 pm
Awww, that’s so sweet! I caughy my daughter trying to nurse her doll once as I was wheeling her through the mall in her stroller once.
I wondered why people were giving me ‘the look’!
12:13 am
What a gallant and adorable big brother! I haven’t changed anything on my comments–have you been trying to leave them? I’m getting others….
I think you’re getting traffic because you’re GOOD, honey!! Keep it up!
BTW, sometime you should blog about your book in progress. Sneak previews, insider publishing info, y’know…
12:21 am
You are so funny. I’m glad I found your site. I’ve been trying to come back everyday and see what you’re up to.
That is too cute that your son wanted to help feed his brother. I remember when my oldest carried around a baby for a couple months after his baby brother was born. My husband and dad were freaked but I think it made him a better brother.
I have a little one named Seth, too. I love that name!!
1:33 am
Gotta love nursing kids! Victoria use to do that with her doll – but I’m sure it was more hilarious when Caden did it. More “man” power to him!
At least he tried to take care of him…
2:43 am
I’m a new fan, and I love your “real” blog, warts and all. I know someone who is going to be devoted big brother, by all indications. Sounds like someone has been doing their “Holy Mama” job right. Drop by and visit sometime. I have you on my favorites, and if you don’t mind, I will “try” to add a link on my blog to yours.
Diane
4:56 am
Yes, Holymama! Great story!
Don’t know how I found you, but glad I did.
6:02 am
Note to self: Do not read Holymama before 6 am when kids are still asleep. Rapid outbursts of laughter will wake them up.
What no link to the bobblehead award I granted to you? Where is the love?
6:25 am
That is so great, you should feel proud:) I’ve caught Maddie quite a few times nursing her dolls. Now when Bella is really fussing Maddie will say: mom will you just nurse her?:)BTW I am trying to wean her…
7:51 am
LOL!! That is so cute and sweet. I can’t remember how I found your blog, but I check in often.
8:58 am
The mental image is just to sweet! It’s probably best though that you did not get a picture and then post it on the internet. 2 yr Caden wouldn’t mind but I’m thinking 21 yr Caden wouldn’t like it so much.
Thanks for the giggles!
9:04 am
That is too cute. My 2yo loves to ‘help’ his baby too but he never offered to breatsfeed!
9:09 am
I’m literally laughing out loud at this one! No, not because I think it impossible, but b/c my own 2 year old niece has done the same thing!! She has a now 7 month old baby brother! She now has a scary obsession w/ showing off her boobies!!
12:54 pm
How funny!!
12:59 pm
That ROCKS! A picture would have topped it off! Those toddlers hear and watch our every move – that can be so S-C-A-R-Y but so cool at the same time! Props to Caden for sure!
1:13 pm
Too cute. You already know I love your blog. ;D
1:58 pm
Hey, what happened to your sidebar?
Your McDonald story is too funny.
When the see me walk into Starbucks they get started on my Chai Latte even before I get to the register. I think it’s too funny.
2:04 pm
You’re going to have to email eWebscapes and get them to tell you how to get your awards in the sidebar. When you figure it out, let me know. I still can’t get Jeana’s to do right.
2:05 pm
And you are amazingly special, Kelsey. An Google ads might get someone here, but you are what keeps them coming back.
2:56 pm
That’s just way too funny. I laughed out loud LOL. I love that he tried to feed him.
3:35 pm
Can your son come to my house and change my son’s diapers? I’ll let him!
5:00 pm
Now where are those servers when I want them?! How neat that she remembers you and knows your order. Reminds me of living in a small town where everything is nice and cozy and dreamy. (WINK)
By the way your kids are adorable!
8:56 pm
Hilarious – doesn’t it suck when they totally know your name – especially when you have friends or the huz with you! LOL.
10:50 pm
Seriously, you attribute your readers to google ads?? What the?
2:06 pm
awww ~ that’s so sweet. i wish i could teach my dog to do the same thing. J has actually asked Coco (the dog) to change her diaper. Too bad for me!!
