I’m So, So Late With This…

Everyone in the world has already posted their 6 Weird Things. In fact, one blogger I saw had it as 5 Weird Things. But I’m finally doing it! Thank you for the tags, Jan,  Mary, and Cheeriobutt!

6 Weird Things

1. I like ice cream but will never, EVER scoop it myself. I’d rather not eat it than do that. It’s not even tempting.

2. I hate my legs, and rarely wear skirts, dresses, or shorts. Jeans, baby. Everyday. (I’ve made a few exceptions recently for Easter and a funeral, and HATED EVERY MINUTE until I could slip into my jeans again.)

3. I had a crush on this guy in the 90s. (It couldn’t have been the jeans. Or the hair. Must have been the voice.)

4. And this guy too. (Again, baaaad pants and bad hair. great voice.)

5. I played with bugs and snails as a kid and I collected roly polies in a round, cardboard Quaker Oats canister. Hundreds. of. them.   (I’m grossing myself out right now at the memory)

6. I always knew (easily, from the age of 5) that the love of my life would have brown hair and brown eyes. Always.

(Yeah, that’s Caden-2yr with the chocolate on his face, but I was talking about the other one, yaknow.  Mike.)

Updated to add:

I just re-read that and OHMYGOSH, #6 TOTALLY SOUNDED LIKE A CHEESY E-HARMONY COMMERCIAL!! Oh, funny.

Updated AGAIN to add: forgot to tag people. tag yourself if you haven’t done it yet, and let me know in comments on this here post so i can come visit!

The thought of an oatmeal canister with hundreds of roly-polys inside? There are no words to describe my fear and trembling. It makes me shudder. Must create new mental picture now. :-)

My boys are right with you in collecting roly poly’s. They keep theirs in peanut butter jars. It was one of the things they looked forward to over the winter!

Ooooooh how much was I in love with Dwight too! It definitely was not the jeans for me though. It was those mysterious eyes peeking out from the hat and that voice, oh that voice! Ok, getting a little too excited here.

And I only scoop my own ice cream in dire straits.
My hands are just too weak to scoop. I am soooo pitiful.

I like ice cream any way I can get it, even if I have to scoop it myself.
My legs are FAT, but I usually have an old housedress on here at home (like now). I love my jeans, though. :)
#3 & #4– I like them both as long as I can just listen to them—Don’t care for their looks, unless it WOULD be Dwight’s rear view in those tight Wranglers……LOL :)
I have no issue with bugs of any type now, and played with many different kinds as a kid.
#6–My initials were LDC growing up, and my sister Cecil and Royce, a girlfriend and I were talking about our potential future mates. About that time, a car passed us with a license plate that started with the letters LDJ. It’s like I had a revelation that my future husband’s last name would start with J. About 5 months later I met my future husband, and we’ve been together for almost 22 years. Our name is Jennings, by the way.
So, I don’t think #6 is all that weird at all.

I answered your question about the cornbread under your comment, Kelsey. Hope it helps.

Good list, and I was kind of disappointed…..You’re not any weirder than me! LOL :)

I love that you knew what your soul mate would look like at such a young age! Reminds me of the scene in Practical Magic where she casts a spell to fall in love with a specific guy, with all these physical traits and characteristics, then she ends up meeting him and falling in love…blown away there was such a man.

I admit, I’ve always been a Dwight girl too. There’s something mysterious about him.
Gotta love ” Ain’t That Lonely Yet.”

HA! Your numbers 3 & 4 reminded me of the huge crush I had in the late 80′s. It definitely rivals your two. Rick Astley! Eeww!

Sing with me:
“Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down….”

Hee hee! Those were good…yeah, you are a little weird!

Great list. Were you traumtized by bad ice cream as a child? Why don’t you want to scoop it?

My list has been up too…but I have to disagree with #1, I’ll scoop it! Whatever it takes to get it. If it’s too cold, I run the scooper under hot water and nuke the ice cream for about 15 sec. I know it sounds gross but it’s ALL good!!

I have a solution to the ice cream dilemma. It’s called “pints”! Okay, in a family of…well, however large your family is, it probably isn’t practical, but it’s the only way my hubby and I eat ice cream anymore.

I don’t know who those guys are (I’m totally hopeless when it comes to celebrities of any kind), but I gotta say, after seeing those pictures, #s 3, 4, and 5 are scaring me a little. Yeah, I think I’m a little bit scared of you now. ;-)

I’m glad to finally see how weird you are! But! I still think I’m weirder! Nyaaah! :) You know I really hate scooping ice cream too, but I never thought of it until I read your post. “I, am a princess…and must be served ice cream on a silver platter”…is that you too? I like that psycho guy you had a crush on in #3 Whooaa…scary. I had some of those too. Dwight is still pretty cool though. Ugly, but somehow his personality and voice make up for it. Well, cheeriobutt is tired now….must rest brain…goodnight….P.s. did you ever see my blog on the muppet’s personality test? You gotta take that! I’m dying to see what muppet you are! The link to that test is under the post title “I feel soo cool” (and you can see what muppet I am). I don’t know how to link it here in comments but I hope you find it on my blog…okay, I’ll quit bugging you…love,
weirdo

The oatmeal box is not so bad. My sister kept her collection of lizard tails and bugs in her overall pockets. Mom would have to dig it all out before doing the laundry.
