Living Beyond Yourself. Sorta.

Living Beyond Yourself.

Do NOT sign up for such a study lightly. Don’t think, "Oooh! Fun. And Beth Moore! And woo-hoo, I’ll be all holy and learn so much and CLICK commit." Because the NAME OF THE STUDY is Living Beyond Yourself. This implies learning to do things you cannot do, in and of itself, does it not? It does, IF YOU’RE SMART ENOUGH to pay attention and give that a moment’s thought.

I did not give that a moment’s thought.

Stress. Big stress. Stress That No Shoes Or Silk Dress Or M&Ms Can Soothe. Just God. And the TMJ thing is back, thank you stress, and that prevents the m&m thing anyway. (Or at least makes them far less enjoyable)

That impromptu trip  that lasted a few days? Not a romantic getaway. Did i imply that somehow it was? HA!! It was a trip to Parenting’s Last Resort, which was surprisingly lovely. We met with three men who are dedicated to helping troubled kids. It was surreal. One of them looked like a cross between Barry Manilow and Gene Wilder. One looked exactly like Dermot Mulroney, and the third? Just like John Denver. Surreal, to be talking parenting stuff with these three. I just wanted to stop and say, "excuse me. Have y’all NOTICED what you LOOK LIKE ALREADY?! Why am I the only one freaked out right now?" But I didn’t.

Will catch up this weekend on the things promised in previous post. In the meantime, please pray that i return to my regularly scheduled life soon.

Oh, man! I really MISS YOU, too! And am adding you to my computer-side prayer list.

I don’t know how you do it, but even your stressed out description of those three men made me chuckle a little. You have such a funny way of looking at things even when you’re probably NOT feeling funny.

Hey, I was glad to see Holy Mama! in bold today in my Bloglines folder. Welcome back. Thanks for being real — hey, life isn’t always silk dresses and M&Ms…

This LBY study is causing me some stress too, as I’m undergoing major soul searching. Publicly.

We’re praying for you — God is good.

Heather’s comment cracks me up – “major soul searching. Publicly.” Yes ma’am – me, too. :-) Praying that stress is diminished and that peace is the order of the day in the HM household.

Adding you to my prayers. I was a driver to parenting’s last resort in my teens (and no, that doesn’t mean I chauffered worried moms and dads there) and cannot imagine the challenge of the shoe being on the other foot, as it were. Could I mix my metaphors up a little more in this here comment?

This study sure is a big commitment – both time wise and for the inevitable and incredible soul challenges.

I do pray that your life evens out soon and you can get back to your routine. I am sending them now…
God Bless!

Glad you’re back. Have you tried Reese’s Pieces? they’re softer than the m&m’s when you bite down on them. Which if you like pb&chocolate–is great!

Oh HolyMama…how I feel for you…I have TMJ too!! And, boy does it spring up in stressful times. Like now, new house..ahem. Not sure if you have any help for the symptoms. But, I wear a nightgaurd every night and use to have to take Valium before I went to sleep. Shoot me an email if you want to chat about it. Lots of Aleve and wearing my nightguard during the daytime seems to help during more painful times. I just shot you a prayer! Blessings to you and your fam!

I’ve just been letting everything pass me by , but so it goes. I just don’t have much to say these days. Pfft. I can’t be bothered with anything. More or less nothing seems worth doing. I haven’t gotten much done recently, but oh well.
