Mike’s Dirty Laundry

You know how I said Mike mailed home some dirty clothes from his vacation with the two older kids?  Caden-2yr insisted that we open that box yesterday. I let him convince me, since things could possibly be mildewing in there.

We opened it, and there was an enormous, heavy duty Ziploc bag holding a ton of their clothes. Caden-2yr opened that, and then we both BACKED. UP. Oh, the smell that came out of that bag! I have no idea what was the matter with those clothes, but it was worse than any dirty laundry smell EVER.

Caden-2yr shook his head in shock, as he backed up, and shouted, "Dir-TAY! Dir-TAY!" Then he bravely started scooping it up and running to the laundry room, making trip after trip until he was finished. The smell lingered in the living room all day.

I think he wished he hadn’t opened the box.

Luckily it didn’t get tagged as a possible hazard. Good thing it was ziplocked.

Your Caden-2yr sounds like such a sweetie. He was curious, and then when faced with the results of his curiousity, he tried as hard a a two year old can, to make it right. Next time, just point him in the direction of the Febreeze.

Tell Mike, no more “care packages”!!

No STINKIN’ way! Do you have a bottle of Febreeze for the laundry? I’d think about using the whole bottle… ;)

Oh I do hope your dinner is going well. I understand anxiety in such moments.

The funniest thing about your post? The two year-old carried all the laundry. What a dedicated little guy!

Hubby will be returning from a business trip to Singapore next week, so I think I’ll put on a mask and just dump the contents of the suitcase straight into the washing machine! Too funny that your hubby mailed home dirty clothes!! Never a dull moment around your house, I’m sure! :-)

You just had your own Pandora Box experience…

Yuck. And what was Mike thinking when he said that “you don’t have to open it”? Ugh.

And he should be sending you a care package with CHOCOLATE after that little job on you!

Lol. I am pretty sure the same words escaped my mouth yesterday when my 4 yr. old came inside from the backyard.

So sorry. Home grown laundry is bad enough, but vacation laundry is so much worse….

Just have to ask. What did he tell the postal service when they asked what was in the box?

Oh that’s funny. But yet not. lol! I think you might need to find a way to get back at him. In a totally non-vengeful way of course. ;)
