Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen Things That Didn’t Help (Much) With Stress

1. M&Ms by the pound

2. M&Ms "Specktacular" Easter eggs

3. Cadbury mini eggs

4. Anxiety over weight surely gained due to !, 2, and 3

5. cold pizza

6. hot pizza

7. pizza after it’s been in fridge for 30 minutes and is neither hot nor cold. ew.

8. Obsessing over every single thing i’ve done badly as a mom,

9. and as a wife,

10. and all that pizza,

11. and telling myself anyone else would be doing waaaaay better, in the same curcumstances. (real useful thought, huh?)

12. Skipping church

13. Staying away from well intended callers.

(And the things that HAVE worked: prayer, 1 full day of Retail Therapy with my mom, naps, baths, foods that contain protein and not chocolate, and half of a really cute book i read while on that short trip. now where is it?)

I’m not sure if this is a stressfully serious list…or filled with humor!!

But as far as I’m concerned that pizza will bring on comfort…it’s the cheese for me! roflmao

gotta love the m&m’s. I’m so bummed that they didn’t make the mint ones this year….

Say, in relation to your top reads – I read “She’s All That” because Geekwif read it because of you! I loved it! Of course, I’m a chick-lit, romance novel fan anyway, whereas it was a first for Geekwif.

Loved it! I went back to the library to get some more Billerbeck. I got “What a Girl Wants”. It’s pretty good, too, though not quite as good as “She’s All That”. The problem is, I read fast – really fast – and I’m done with the first Ashley Stockingdale book and I want to read number 2- but it’s on hold at the library! Waahh. So is the 2nd the in the Spa Girl’s series. Now I have to wait. Oh, I hate waiting for a book I want to read!

Have a lovely day.

I’m sorry all that chocolate didn’t help the stress! Maybe you neede just a little bit more? :) All of those thing used to make me feel better, but now it makes me feel worse! Isn’t it terrible how when you’re young not much is expected from you, but when you get older that even your body demands that you be responsible? I hate growing up! Pizza used to be the best! Now it makes me sick! BUT I still like skipping church! Ha! :) Oh! By the way, when I get obsessed over my Mommyhood skills, I go play with my kids and quit trying soo hard and it all comes natural! Okay, It’s not always that way, but when I DO look up from what I’m stressing out on and remember to be human, that’s what I do! No such thing as perfect. I repeat that a lot to myself, especially when scarfing the chocolate while I skip church…..J.K. :)

Just so’s you know, no one really handles stress all that well, so don’t beat yourself up about THAT one!

So I’m not the only one who obsesses about how I’m screwing up? Phew! Eat more chocolate, I’m sure it will help eventually…..

Sorry chocolate didn’t do the trick. It really should have. I’m like Heth – eat more. It will help sooner or later — and at least it tastes goooood! Hope things are better soon.

Oh, S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G makes me feel sooooo much better. I love shopping.

But, then, I stress about the money I just spent.

Never mind.

It’s always good to know what does work!
You need a little Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” in your life, too.

I’ll pray that God will alleviate some of that stress immediately!

My TT is up too.

You mean chocolate and pizza don’t help with stress? Hmm. that explains a lot!

Now, are these things that didn’t help with stress LATER? It seems to me that while you were actually eating wonderful things like pizza and chocolate you would actually feel great. It would be later, when you realized what you had done, that you might panic.

But what do I know? I’m a guy. We’re clueless about a lot of this stuff.

Kelsey, since the prayer is something that always helps, I’ll give you more of that. I’ll be praying for comfort and guidance for you at this time.

Big hugs to you. :)

The words “Be anxious for nothing” are so easy when you read them in the Bible. Living them is another story. I’m trying to learn that lesson myself! Hope you destress soon!
