Response to Kind Commenters from Here:
I emailed my teacher, thank you all very much. Not one of you said, "Loser! Why bother?!" Y’all are polite that way. Haven’t heard back, but I’m sure I will eventually.
I am working on polishing my manuscript, and will send it to a very special someone at a very special place very soon. (ew. gag. did that sound wrong?)
Luxury MomMobile is this. We got it thinking we’d use it as an advertising vehicle, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. We thought it was crazy to spend a bunch of money on a car that was going to have french fries on the floorboards, but we got over it. i changed a dirty diaper in it today and poo got on the fancy shmancy leather. but? it wipes off! no problem. Really, it might be a good thing that we haven’t yet stuck advertisements all over it, since my mom will tell anyone just how often i hit curbs. (so often, she’ll sometimes grab the door handle, and say "Watch out! This curb up here is one of your ‘faves!’ In my defense, it’s only when I’m making right turns. Like, every right turn.) My kids are so used to it they don’t even react. Curb jumping is not professional looking and neither am I, and perhaps the business’s phone number should not be at the ready when I’m curb hopping my way around town.
I just finished A Girl’s Best Friend, by my FAVORITE, Kristin Billerbeck. I’ll tell you more another time, but do yourself a favor and get it. NOW. It’s laugh out loud funny, as all of hers are. (But if you haven’t read the first Spa GIrls, start there. See my SIdebar for details on that one.) For now, I’ll just say I LOVED every minute I got to spend reading it, and I usually had a smile on my face. Yep. It’s that kind of book, and those are rare.
(Have you seen her blog?)

Curb hopping! Love it! Nice to meet another person who ocassionally turns just ever too tightly when making a right turn while driving an Escalade! My husband is certain that I do it to annoy him–of course, he NEVER hits a curb–due to his gender! ????? !!!
Oh-well–my life is way more exciting than his predicatable life!

I haven’t read any fiction in a while so I think I will give this one a shot as a summer read! Thanks for the reccommendation. (Hmmm. That looks wrong, but no spell check so I’ll just stick with it.)

btw (comment from your previous post)- YAH for you! 7 pounds left? THAT is something to celebrate (spoken by a mama that gave birth 5 months ago and has A WHOLE LOT MORE then that to lose to get into her pre preggo clothes.
way to go holy mama!

I love Kristen Billerbeck! And the car is sweet. I also bought mine because it was a “write off”. Uuuuh-huh. ;p
8:48 pm
Yup– I’m a curb-jumper too. Just ask my kids!

My hubby is the one that can not park my vehicle!! It makes me insane! I did however back into my son’s car when my car was 2 days new!! oops!
9:01 pm
Ha! Curb jumper! Hmmm… maybe that’s why hubby is embarrassed when I drive up at wherever he’s working his jobs at? I am the official tire screecher, fishtailer, and dentmaker of the family! Yeah, the looney wife of the businessman!
9:34 pm
Nice car. I hit the curbs a lot as well. Maybe it’s a chick thing.
9:35 pm
Another curb jumper checking in.
9:58 pm
OOH, I’m gonna check that author out! Karen Kingsbury is my favorite author (christian). Her books are those ones you read til 1am cause you can’t put it down.
10:04 pm
Oooo you have a pretty MomMobile!!! I so will never post what we drive
10:11 pm
The Mommobile is revealed! Them are some wheelz
11:15 pm
Love the mommobile! I am a recovering curb hopper. I drive a smaller vehicle now and have no real excuse for still hanging on to the habit.
Besides, one time when I did it at the bank, I got reprimanded by the drive thru teller and ended up having to get the tire fixed because I banged a chunk out of it!! Guess I just don’t do big vehicles well. That’s why my dream car is a Mini Cooper. I’d be so cute drivin’ that thing!
1:27 am
I am a curb jumper too. It drives my husband crazy. I’ve only busted one tire with it tho.
Good luck with sending the manuscript. Keep us posted!
7:06 am
I just finished that book as well. I LOVED IT! Cool car by the way!
7:12 am
Nice ride…….I had a period of curb hopping - only to the left. Turned out I had an inner ear infection. Maybe you can just tell people you think you have an undiagnosed one and you’ll be making an appointment soon to check that out.
7:33 am
Way to go on reaching out to your former teacher!
7:54 am
I am loving the mom mobile! When it loaded it said “geeked out car”! HaHaHa!
8:41 am
Oh - I’m impressed! An e-mail to the teacher AND a manuscript almost ready to send out! You’ve inspired me to action!
No, I’m not re-sending mine. I think I’ll chalk that one up to “practice” and start working on the next one.
I DID send in a proposal for a writing project this weekend, so at least I’ve done SOMETHING.
10:41 am
Oooo….You are so going to get published, girl!
2:03 pm
You go girl! You are tackling your dreams and wishes. Next stop: church potlucks.
2:49 pm
Aw, you beat me to it. I’m still waiting to read A Girl’s Best Friend. Sounds like it will be something fun to relax with this summer.
Kudos on the note to your teacher!
4:03 pm
So, you’re a curb jumper, eh? Yeah, might not be a good idea to advertise when you’re hitting curbs! LOL!
Thanks for commenting on my blog the other day. I really appreciated your thoughts. Come back again to visit sometime!
6:50 pm
I LOVE Kristin Billerbeck’s books. A friend got me hooked on the Ashley Stockingdale series. The scary part is it sounds like it was inspired by the singles group at my church. We have computer geeks and doctors and everything. Chili’s is where we eat ALL THE TIME!
Looking forward to reading the new stuff.
9:36 pm
Wow, that thing looks huge! I think if I was driving a vehicle that big, I’d probably be doing a little curb-hopping too. I’ve never been able to make friends with big cars. I used to want a Sebring convertible, but they’re just so long. Something little like a Beetle suits me better.
Good luck on the manuscript! I can’t wait to see it on the shelves and buy myself a copy one of these days!
10:48 pm
good luck withthe manuscript!
I never put one of those Christian fish on my car cause I don’t think the way I drive is the greatest advertisment for Christ! LOL
1:28 pm
Hi again! I noticed my name on my post here earlier says “cheeriobuttr” Hmmmm….. Did you guess it was probably me and my idiotic self? Anyways, I made a new kind of Meme! wanna play?
5:56 pm
RIGHT TURNS AND CURBS I always go over the curb, when I go in or out or a driveway. Most of the time it is just the back tire, but some times, the front too!I also hit or run over curbs parking.
