You know, as soon as you say something wild and crazy like "I read 282 blogs" then your life gets in the way and you get behind and then you suddenly realize… you can’t possibly read that many blogs anymore. Why was i doing that in the first place, and how in the world do i cut back? And gah, everyone will hate me anyway… isn’t it so much more polite to try to remember the intricate details of the lives of almost three hundred other people?! My approach was to stop visiting all blogs. Smart huh? It just seemed better than picking and choosing, which of course it is not. Gah. Something to work on, I suppose.
School starts on Monday. IT’S THURSDAY! Hello? When did this happen? I know. If I’d been visiting blogs, I woulda known, because the blogosphere is full of organized moms and dads who actually know when the first day of school is. Y’all have probably even already bought school supplies.
I’ll be picking through your rejects at Office Depot later.

2:16 pm
I hear you! It’s impossible to keep up with everyone you would like to! For example, I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks and you probably have no idea who I am. Why? Because I rarely comment these days! I read all these great posts in Bloglines and in the process miss out on all these great blog designs!! My point? Uh, I don’t think I have one…oh yeah! Just feeling your pain!
2:57 pm
me too, girl….
Mary
3:17 pm
Feeling your pain here too. I feeling guilty not reading everyone’s blogs, but you have to draw the line somewhere or you will end up reading 282 blogs…. *grin* I hardly ever comment anymore.
Happy school shopping!
4:30 pm
I love reading your blog and I don’t even feel bad if you don’t read mine…yours is so much more interesting:) Just keep blogging and everyone will be happy.
5:01 pm
I usually do not pimp myself out … but if you have time to read my last post … it is only good news
5:05 pm
lol about the office depot rejects.
let the other bloggers be hurt; you have to do what you have to do; and unself you’re superfast reading woman, you don’t have time to visit everyone you’d like to!! we understand.
8:36 pm
Nope. Not organized. AT ALL. School doesn’t start here until September 7, but I won’t do my shopping until September 6. I like to live in avoidance.
9:17 pm
I am so with you! I get so behind in my blog reading and then I feel so guilty! It’s a vicious circle!
10:32 pm
If it makes you feel any better, I let the whole school supply thing sneak up on me — not realizing what a MAJOR deal it is for our new school (which started Monday). The night before the first day, my husband said, “Oh, I think they can reuse their notebooks from last year, and we have tons of old pencils in the basement.”
Da-Da-Da-Dumb (Beethoven music here.)
THEN I SAW THE LIST.
Yes, I was out madly dashing through Wal-Mart AND Office Depot in the wee hours that morning — list in hand, panicked that I couldn’t find the RIGHT SCISSORS. And each child had to have three colors of plastic (not paper) pocket folders. The good thing? Office Depot rejects aren’t bad at all.
10:33 pm
Sounds like we are all living the same pain. I can never keep up and always feel guilty. Gah, double gah! We love you though whether you read us or not. We always know where to find you, right?
9:17 am
We MUST be able to order school supplies on-line!~ You know–for all of the socially-reclusive bloggers who can’t tear themselves away from their keyboards to PARENT! YIKES! Me too! Thanks for the reminder! School starts the day after Labor Day here (Minneosta)….so I guess I have time to stop blog-surfing and get school shopping! Well…maybe LATER!

HolyMama…you are too funny and honest:) Love that. Wanna know something crazy? I’m a freak too and I tend to think those thoughts (like the comments you left on my blog) about people all the time. What is up with that? But thank you so much for the compliment…:))

Well, I’m not too much beter. School registration is next week sometime, I’m not sure when. And then I’m pretty sure it starts around the 23rd. I did already get school supplies…only because Wal-mart had there 20 cent sale. I’ve thought about cutting back on some blogs too (but I only read like 68) but I haven’t figured out how to do it either!
10:44 am
When you get behind it is sooooo difficult to get back on track. You are too funny. School already began here.
1:51 pm
I miss you (waaahh)
Hey, my girls are going to a new school on Monday. You bet we’ve got the supplies. And new backpacks. And new CLOTHES, as this school does not require uniforms.
Can I borrow some cash? (You know, since you haven’t bought your school stuff yet
3:18 pm
I am NOT one of those scary organized moms, but I DID buy my daughter’s 1st grade school supplies….during the last week of school last year. As soon as that list was in my hand, I bought two of everything. One for her, and one set will be donated to someone else who is in need.
I did all the school clothes shopping already, too…at various thrift stores through the DC area. All she needs now is one pair of run-around shoes and I am done…
The other (younger) kiddo is homeschooled, so I buy his stuff whenever….

7:43 pm
Oh c’mon, you’re not fooling me… I know you’ve got it more together than you’re letting on. We understand that you have to pick and choose who you read. We all do : )
8:34 pm
wow school starts early where you live. My son doesn’t start after labor day.
10:23 pm
oh yeah - i hear you. although i have never read as many as you! but esp in the summer it is hard to keep up.
9:13 am
School doesn’t start here until the 29th.
How did the first day go for y’all?
