I have a date! Sorta.

Today Ethan-6yr solemnly told me I looked "very, VERY nice" today. (I don’t) Then he asked if just the two of us could go do fun things tonight. How could I say no?

On the list of "fun" things he has already mentioned:

playing ‘Lights Out Golf" at the mall (only thing scarier than Ethan-6yr swinging a golf club at the mall is him doing it in the dark)

playing the game at the movie theatre where you lower a helmet onto your head and pull a trigger (lice, anyone? fun!)

eating ice cream at a certain place

and a couple more I can’t remember, but wish I could, because DUDE. THey were so not my idea of fun. But who cares? He said I looked "very, VERY nice" (in my white t shirt and jeans), and that’s a lovely start.

I’ll even risk the lice if he really wants me to.

Awwwww.

I would also brave lice if someone told me I looked very, very nice in a t-shirt and jeans. (Okay, no I wouldn’t, but I’m a total germ- and creepy-crawly-ophobe.)

Have a sweet, lovely time. And don’t get hit over the head with a golf cub. Please.

That is really sweet! And, actually, white tee-shirt and jeans is a great look.

Oh, and I know how to annihilate the pesky, crawly, itchy things. Just in case you need to know.

I definitely think the little man deserves a special time with mommy, after such a great compliment. Heck, I’m just impressed that he knows how to give a compliment, at his age! you must be doing a great job bringing up this kid.

For a compliment like that, you’d slay lice, dragons, whatever critters, wouldn’t you? ;-)

Not only is this a chance for you to be alone with him but also to get in some personal training on how to treat his date. I do that with my boys - have them open the doors, etc. They feel so grown up and someday their wives will appreciate it — hopefully.

Hope you had a great time.

I just wanted to tell you to visit my blog to get a prayer button for Emma Grace at Midlife Moments or Amy at Wilhoite Prayer Blog, or Addison at In the Midst of It. If you haven’t heard of any of them but any of their stories touch your heart, and you are going to pray for them then be sure to get a “button” for them!
I am hoping to help them out by not only supporting them in prayers but spreading the word of their prayer needs!

How adorable of your son to notice how HOT you look in a white t-shirt and jeans… It sounds like he’s a prodigy child!

And, uh … did you take a shower cap with you to wear under the helmet?

Lice can be removed. Offers like that don’t grow on trees.

My 10 year old son affectionately says good bye to me when we get to school — in the car! But if I have to go in to the school for any reason, you’d think we don’t know each other. Enjoy being someone your son doesn’t mind being seen with… lice and all!

Put on lots of “hair products” - lice don’t like it.

I think the golf thing sounds like fun…

Hey friend…sorry it has been way too long since I visited. The big “E” is quite a hoot. BTW…your hubby has a back pack and a duffle bag which came free from Office Depot in his office…you might ask him to bring them home for one of the little men!

I am not ever surprised by what “E” comes up with. He is a very bright young man…of course he comes from a bright father and a bright mother…brains run in the family.

Thank for being such a good friend. Smiles…

WOW! What a charmer! They say that the way a boy treats his mom is how he will treat his wife. You are doing a fantastic job training him up in the way he should go.
