Like her. She really likes that stuff.
And, although I really like her, I don’t. So, tough.
It’s too smart and too deep
and it puts me to sleep.
But then HolySister wrote stuff I ADORE!
It’s always cute and funny and then i want more
so i begged and i pleaded
said this blog really, really needed (‘her stuff’, you know. pretend this isn’t here and it rhymed AND made sense, ‘kay?)
and she said yes!
so without further ado…
(you woulda loved it anyway
even without my suckage to compare it toooooo…)

by HolySister,
Caden
Only two, our little bird-lover,
our connoisseur of vegetables.
He is Mischief in Elmo briefs,
blue and blonde and pink.
His rose-bud smile outfoxes Mona Lisa
for sly reticence.
Under all that wriggling energy –
the circular dance led by the right hip –
he is perceptive.
Little hands, row of dimples
across the knuckles,
pat reassuringly.
“I’m okay.”
He nods.
“You’re okay.”
More nodding.
His brow furrows, small
human barometer.
He knows comfort is needed.
I’m okay. You’re okay.

I laughed, I cried. That was indeed a perfect post. LOVE the poems! (Yours and hers both.)
The little guy is adorable! This, I think, is why I don’t have kids. God knows I wouldn’t be able to help spoiling them rotten when they flash me those “Aren’t I cute” looks.
And thanks for the links. You rock!

Thanks for the peoms. I love poetry. Your son is just a cutey. Made me think of a sweater I saw the other day “Would this face lie to you”.
As parents we are truly blessed.

What a love-full-y post! As mom and grandmother to you three beautiful people, I felt all glow-y and proud when I saw Caden’s photos and your poems.
I enjoy reading the comments and would just like everyone to know that the cliches about grandparents are absolutely true.
We all think our grandchildren are the cutest, sweetest, smartest and most creative in the world. In my case, it just happens to be the truth!
Love, J-mom

Love this! I feel the same way about poetry, but I also could make an exception for your cutie.
11:05 am
That was so sweet.
9:38 pm
I like that. That’s cool. I wonder how it would set to music. Might need something rhyme-y for the chorus.
That Caden’s a doll.
12:17 am
What a cutie, indeed! Never could write a peom to save my life.
9:49 pm
That rocked!
Write more… I love that kind of poetry.

I just want you to know that you have one of the cutest little boys ever! And that’s saying something since I have two of my own!!
The poem was nice, too : )
