Adventures with Mystery Houseguest

i’ve been busy having a great time with a wonderful person. isn’t that better than, ‘i’ve been busy because i’ve been so depressed lately, and let’s talk some more about that, already?’

some of you already know my Mystery Houseguest, but others may not.

yesterday we were in the kitchen and i was doing dishes and Mystery Houseguest says, "I like you jeans. The embroidery on the back is asymetrical."

the back pockets had embroidery, although i didn’t know it was asymetrical until she pointed it out.

then she said, "Pardon the pun."

Do you get it? i didn’t. I’m just not that quick. I sat there, rinsed a dish, and then giggled. Assymetrical…. very funny, Mom.

And that was just the beginning. She’ll be here for a month, and trust me – that is NOT long enough.

Tonight we ended up trying to buy Crown whiskey at a liquor store so Mike could pay the Mob for the weekend’s hunting privileges, only to realize too late that state law prohibits such sales after 9 p.m. who knew?

Other adventures include driving on ice, learning to fuse glass, and of course – shopping. with and without children, and lots of it.

We’re off. not to another liquor store, thank you very much – Mike can do his own dirty work from here on out. We’re off to ebay!

Woohoo, I’m the winner! That’s so fun that J-Mom is back for a visit. I know you guys always have a blast while she’s there. I’ll be thinking of you and all the fun girl stuff you’ll be doing : )

eBay is my friend.

I did half my Christmas shopping there yesterday morning, and that was in the half hour before getting dressed for the day.

I’ll trade places with you. In your neck of the woods you have the Hunting Mafia, down here they look less like the Godfather and more like Deliverance. And people wonder why I don’t hunt, (besides the whole being blind thing).

Have fun on eBay! Buying shoes? I decided I was going to buy all my gifts on eBay this year. I found an adorable homemade stuffed snowman for my mother-in-law. (She collects snowmen and santas.) It was at about $15 which I thought was great, and then it jumped up to $40 by the end…for a 6″ tall stuffed snowman. $40!

I hope you find better deals than I did, and I hope you have tons of fun with J-mom, and I hope you don’t have to buy too many gifts for mob guys, ’cause that’s just scary and weird.

How lucky, for you both, that a month is not enough.

Congrats on Holy Mom being there! I’m sure she will help to lift your spirits…

I just tried my first ebay selling. I love it. I can make great payments on my bills if I can sell all my crap… I mean things.

Also — thought your hubby wasn’t going hunting with the mob anymore? Now you have me confused…
