Name that Boat!

Wanna help us name a boat?

it’s big and orange.  sort of like:

Boat

(no, not our family. total strangers)

My suggestions, after taking it out once:

"Second Thoughts"

and "Orange Roughy"

Mike, predictably, objects to Second Thoughts, and didn’t at first get the brilliant play on words that the second one demonstrates.

So. I think my suggestions are out.  Got any?

Yesterday I attempted wakeboarding. I don’t know how many times I tried, all unsuccessfully. Ten?  I never even got up, and that was NOT how I had envisioned it. Realistic or not, I was going to be the Queen of the Wake. I’d read the magazines, done the online searches and practiced the stance in front of the mirror. Oh yeah. I really did.  I just hadn’t yet met the Wake, for it to crown me. That was supposed to happen yesterday. The Lake did not get the memo. My right ankle got a nice bruise from a too loose binding, and my ridiculous fantasty of athletic wake style prowess? dashed to pieces.  Maybe another day. And maybe not.

I also stink at backing a trailer into a boat slip. Actually, I stink at TRYING, because I never even came close to stinking at backing it all the way in.

Not Yet a Boat Person,

Kelsey

PS. Please throw out some boat names, y’all!

I suggest starting with a kneeboard, moving on to waterskiing with two regular old water skis, and only then, maybe trying the wakeboard again. Baby steps, ya know?!?!

Sadly, I have no suggestions for boat names. Sorry.

LOL@Stacey…I love corny.

Playing on your own words,

Wake Queen
Queen of the Wake (sounds like ‘lake’ with a lithp for cute factor)

Wake Up (Are you a wake or orange you? heehee)
Wake’s up
Wake Jumper
Sun set
Setting sun (or rising sun…it reminds me of the sunset color)
Wife Humbler

or how about
Club 17…lol then you could be an ambassador for the SBE all around the lake as people ask you what it means!

Hope you learn to stand up. =)

I LOVE the name game…my first choice of course is Holy Floater but I also like:

The Big “O” (if you’re brave enough) :) {Could mean the Big One, Orange, Org—, you decide} *smile*

Orange Crush

Carrot Top

Wake-n-Roll

Dreamsicle (you know like the orange and vanilla popsicle)

Fresh Squeeze

K, I’m fresh out of names. Have fun and make sure you let us know what y’all decide.

There are some good names up there. I like Dreamsicle and Holy Floater and Orange Crush.

Along the lines of your first choice, you could call it “Buyers Remorse”, but a)Mike would probably exercise his power of veto on that one, and b)it kind of sounds like a bad horse name.

How about…

Tiger Lily

Orange Blossom Special

Mike’s Crush

Kelsey’s Eventual Crush

Darling Clementine

Juicy Fruit

Fruit Loop

Good for you for trying the wakeboarding and backing up the trailer. I too have tried backing the thing up many times and hubby usually ends up doing it for me instead.

Holy Floater, sadly, reminds me of either poop or a dead body. I’m just saying.

I pick Oscar. It sounds cheerful and fun, yet if the boat makes you grouchy there’s that added connotation.

Orange Crush
or
The Other Girl

But I love Diane J’s Wet Dream.

Course you could always just name it Orange Boat. Simple and to the point.

I can’t back a trailer, either. One time we went to a funeral that was far away and since we were headed to our parents area we had to bring our boat to my dad for some trading of boats. Well, I dropped my dh off at the funeral because he needed to be there early. I tried to back up so I could get out, and I couldn’t. And don’t you know that everyone was still outside watching me? I had to have Donnie get back in and set me straight so I could bring it to my dad’s house! LOL
We have a friend with a boat called “Hunky Dory” and our boat is “Lady of the Lakes.” We live in Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes, which is really over 22,000 lakes.

Ha ha! I love those names above. Especially Mike’s crush and Holy Floater!
So, I am proud of you for trying to wakeboard! I just tried waterskiing last summer and couldn’t even do that. Rock on.
So, you wanted names…hmmmm…
how about “Homewrecker”? Ha! Just kidding!
“Who’s your Daddy”
“The crush”
“Orange cyclone”
Okay these are cheesy but I’m not very creative until I see an actual picture!
(with you wakeboarding behind it preferably! Hee Hee!
pic-ture!
