Well, I thought that buying a Frigidaire was buying a good thing. DEFINITELY NOT!!!!! I have had a side by side Frigidaire for less than a year. A month ago the freezer stopped working completely. I called my mom, her Frigidaire did the same thing a couple months back, apparently the auto defrost does not really work. Called the repair people and, indeed, the auto defrost died. They ordered another auto defrost timer, took two weeks to get it, came and put it in almost two weeks ago. Still no ice, my freezer is not working and now my fridge is warm to where my food is spoiling. This is over a month and still no repair. The repairman has been to my house three times and is still scratching his head! I called Frigidaire (FROM WORK) and this man kept telling me over and over to go stand in front of the fridge to do some troubleshooting. I told the man several times that I was at work and was not interested in trouble shooting, I wanted the name of somone who COULD fix my refrigerator or I wanted a new one. His reply: Maam, if you will just open the door of your fridge......I AM NOT CLOSE TO MY FRIDGE, I AM NOT IN THE SAME HOUSE OR ROOM WITH MY FRIDGE. Well, maam, if you will have someone else open your fridge and you can give them the directions. How is that supposed to work? Do all morons in the U.S. work for Frigidaire???????
Hoping for a new fridge.

I would never buy another Frigidaire again. The top freezer fridge died after 2 years. the Washer died after 1 year. I also have the dryer and I am keeping my fingers crossed. The repair bills are more than the original cost. (almost. I think they need to think about the customer more than the bottom line. With garbage like they are sellin I hope they go out of business soon, so more people won't have to go thru what I did.

Though I'm not glad you are going through this, I'm glad that you shared it. We are going to buy a new fridge in the near future and after reading your blog and the comments it will not be a "F".

I feel your pain! We bought a Frigidaire with an extended warranty and guess what, that thing never worked right from the start. They did end up replacing it under the 'lemon' law but I hate to be the bearer of bad news....the 'new' one has the same issues. Apparently, they are only willing to replace it one time after that you are stuck with it. I hope yours decides to straighten up and give you trouble no more! As for me.....I'm going to keep asking Santa for a new one (never give up hope!) LOL!

our fridge just died too. i don't even want to type the amount of how much the new one cost! but let me just say - if I am going to spend that much money I want it to be far more exciting than a fridge! THEN the new one was hooked up wrong and flooded our basement. Now we need to cut out a bunch of the ceiling and replace dry wall, etc... good grief!!!!!! not happy.
