Brief Study Break

So…. apparently when you take college classes, it’s work. And it’s time consuming. And all of, you know, that effort stuff.

I had no idea. My first (and second, and maybe my third) forays into the college world, there wasn’t really a time commitment. I remember walking around and looking at trees a lot and definitely not looking at people. (some things never change. I like trees.*)

I did one of those test for 3 hours credit things this morning and that went well. ┬áSubject: criminal justice. It’s only appropriate at this time to acknowledge the positive effects of my early crush on Erik Estrada.

And now back to the studying. And the work. And the time.

How you people do this with families and full time jobs is beyond me.

(thinking of you, Nurse Chris!)

* Oh! There’s a tree at the gym I really really like, but I can’t identify it. I’m always amazed at the stuff y’all can do. If one of you has a special tree identification talent, please lemme know. I’ve tried the websites where you categorize by leaf shape, orientation on stem, blah blah blah and no luck.

Erik Estrada? Ok, maybe I just don’t remember very well. You, on the other hand, have an awesome memory for things that could be really embarrasing for you. I don’t remember a hard crush per se, you just the general hair bands and what not. But I do remember when we played house (gosh, I was so little), I wanted the Shasta guy to be my husband. He had no name, but he was the “Shasta Guy”. Tall, dark and handsom thank you very much.

Congrats on sticking out the school thing. My lil sis goes online. She is a full time employee, full time mom of 3 and a full time wife, plus she takes in stray people. Go figure. She also cooks. I am so proud of her, because I have been saying for a while I want to go back to school when I grow up. I guess that should be soon….

Wait, so I’m late to this thread, but is the Shasta commercial the one with the 2 guys in tank tops and reflector shades singing “You wanna POP? You wanna Shssssssss-Asta!” Because that snaky sssss thing is so…. not cool. Ha! That’s hilarious.

Update:
I talked to LaLa last night who managed to list at least 19 reasons why the Shasta guy is a) not cool and b) way gay and you know what? I SEE THAT NOW. I did not see those 19 factors when I was like, 8, but now? Loud and clear thankssomuch, LaLa. And my stomach STILL hurts from the laughing I did during that conversation. OW.

ok, the youtube commercial I remembered, but for some reason couldn’t pinpoint why it didn’t really click. So guess what, they still make Shasta (yes, dear, they have a website). There are vintage commercials on there and there is a diet one from the 80′s that has Mr. Household Husband himself. Still laugh though. Goodness. What was up with the nameless lip lady? I think I remember wanting to be like her. (What this has to do with your studying, I don’t know, maybe you can write a report on it)
