this is griping. (and so it is brief.)

okay, i am definitely resting.

i haven’t left the house in three days because the air outside is cold and cold air makes me cough and then i can’t stop. so i stay home and skip basketball games and my mom gets the kids from school and i just stay put. but even that is not enough, because if i get too close to the refrigerator when it’s open, or too close to the back door when the dogs are coming or going, then i fall apart.

cold air = baaaaaad.

and it’s snowing. so we have lotsa cold air.

fortunately mike remembered our old nebulizer, left over from baby ethan’s bout with rsv.  he dug it out of some cabinet, unearthed some expired-in-2003 albuterol thingies, and set me up and i claw my way toward that machine every 3 hours like clockwork. and that’s the only reason i haven’t been hauled to the emergency room. so yea, mike, and thank you.

i am about as delicate as a doily.

and as useful.

i’m accomplishing absolutely nothing. not even breathing.

i need to go through every last piece of bedroom furniture and empty it all by tuesday night. i need to move stuff that is upstairs, downstairs. and vice versa. and there’s more.

but for now i’d settle for a really good deep breath and a nap.

all of this nothing is exhausting.

i miss air.

Call your doctor and ask if he can give you a prescription for the correct albuterol dosage for you to use in the nebulizer. Have him call it in to your pharmacy and then ask Mike nicely if he will go get it for you. I have asthma/chronic bronchitis. If you are using the correct dosage of albuterol plus your other meds, you should start feeling relief in about 24 hours. I’m praying!

If what you “need” to do is move furniture then what you really need to do is find someone who can do it for you. And what you really, really need to do (please?) is rest, rest, and rest some more. Do I sound like a broken record yet? :)

My poor dear… I think a lot of those expiration dates are just recommendations so inhale away (but I’m not a doctor and I don’t always make good decisions so take that with a grain of salt, and then maybe gargle with that salt, but that doesn’t help bronchitis I don’t think so yeah… Keep warm. I’m praying that you will get better like tonight. Like right this second. Make a list of what needs to go where and hand it to Mike. You are good at lists remember? : )

I hope to goodness you got some up-to-date albuterol, and that you are feeling better now. I’ve been thinking about you all week, and praying for you all. Love you!
